Wonderful Hosts
5 stars
‘Teresa and Neil are the perfect hosts, providing a warm welcome at the door. I also got a useful explanation of the (newly re-furbished) building’s facilities, including a free drink on arrival and an honesty bar. The rooms are all well appointed, with everything a business traveller needs, including free wi-fi or ethernet connections. The beds are extremely comfortable and how nice to see luxuriant fluffy towels and bath-robe provided. specialist tea and coffee (with fresh milk in the room’s fridge)and home-made Granola at Breakfast are also part of the attention to detail which you can see has taken some time and investment to achieve. All these “nice touches” add up to a fantastic overnight stay. I will certainly be returning regularly!’
Suenos Guest House
5 stars
‘This is a brilliant guest house, the best that we have stayed in, equivalent to a 5 star hotel. The owners, Teresa and Neil, have thoroughly remodelled the place and decorated and equipped it to a very high standard. The décor is original and restful, the standard of cleanliness excellent, beds huge and comfortable. Rooms are equipped with everything that you would want, bathrooms are luxurious, breakfast (scrambled eggs and smoked salmon)is well-cooked and gives a good start to the day. The lounge has a lovely wood-burning stove, very cosy, and we were welcome to use it at any time. Neil and Teresa are excellent hosts, very warm and welcoming. In all, a thoroughly restful and relaxing experience – we would highly recommend it. Incidentally, the Hundreds tapas restaurant across the road provides a range of really good and inexpensive tapas and a good atmosphere – also highly recommended. Many thanks to Neil and Teresa for helping to make a potentially stressful experience (we were attending a funeral)into one of calm and welcome. We cannot fault the place in any way.’

I was in Southend for one night and picked the Suenos due to its rating on TripAdvisor. I was not disappointed. A warm welcome, a lovely, immaculately clean room and a delicious breakfast (special mention for the home made granola and the bacon) meant it lived up to my expectations. I would definitely stay here again when back in Southend
Birthday trip
5 of 5 stars
Planned a day trip to Southend and as a last minute thing decided to stay overnight to celebrate my husbands birthday. So glad we did, by far the suenos is the best place we’ve ever stayed, perfect from start to finish. Arrived to be greated by a happy smiling Teresa who helped us decide where the birthday boy was gonna have his celebratory meal, again this was perfect, a lovely little place drinking sangria’s and eating tapas on the beach. Got back and had the pleasure of sitting on the balcony looking out onto the water just chillin. It’s all the little touches that make the suenos so good, when you stay there you’ll understand exactly what I mean.

This place is beautiful, everything you want for a relaxing stay. Neil & Teresa are fabulous hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Not a whiff of Lenny Henry here, everything is bespoke from the biscuits in the room to the strawberry jam. With a roaring fire and an honesty bar, a relaxing afternoon can be spent in the lounge area just chilling with the amazing views. We stayed in the spacious attic room, with roll top bath at the foot of the bed enabling star gazing or wallowing in front of the tv. The fluffiest Towels that crush you with their weight, robes, slippers, amazing linen and the comfiest bed, this rivals any 5 star hotel. > Check Suenos out, you won’t be disappointed.
